Combining Math and Music Technology

In honour of Pi Day, our Grade 6 students took on the challenge of participating in ThinkMaths Pi Day Competition in which students represent π in any exciting way they choose (anything from making artwork to writing a piece of music or a poem).

Sophia, who participates in our Music Technology Club, created an electronic music track by plugging the first 100 digits of Pi as the notes and rhythm for her song. Sofia was chosen as one of the top 10 worldwide finalists in the Pi Day competition and featured on the ThinkMaths website. With over 350 entries, we are very proud of her!

Our Music Technology Club provides a creative space for students to develop technical and musical skills and find out how these skills can be applied in a wide range of environments, without necessarily having experience with musical instruments.
