Dis Moi Dix Mots - au fil de l'eau
Our Grade 4 and 5 classes are taking part in the “Dis moi dix mots" contest for the third year in a row.
"Dis moi dix mots" is a contest held by the French Ministry of Culture as an awareness campaign for the French language that invites everyone to play and express themselves in a literary or artistic form. Each year, a theme intended to convey a message about the French language and ten words illustrating them are chosen by the different French partners: France, Belgium, Quebec, Switzerland and the International Organization of La Francophonie.
The new edition, dedicated to water (l'eau), features the following words: aquarelle (watercolour), à vau-l'eau (on the run), engloutir (to swallow), fluide (fluid), mangrove, oasis, ondée (downpour), plouf (Onomatopoeia evoking the sound of falling in water.), ruisseler (stream), spitant (sparkling).
In order to stimulate the appropriation of words, the study of the French language and encourage the creativity of students, primary classes are invited to participate in the drawing process.
Each class will have to choose 4 words of the featured words from “Tell me ten words on water” selection and create a portrait or landscape. Students will have until February 20th to harness their creativity.

Pour la troisième année consécutive nos classes de 4e et 5e années participent au concours «Dis moi dix mots». Le concours, proposé par le ministère de la culture française, est une opération de sensibilisation à la langue française qui invite chacun à jouer et à s'exprimer sous une forme littéraire ou artistique.
Chaque année, une thématique destinée à transmettre un message sur la langue française et dix mots les illustrant sont choisis par les différents partenaires francophones : la France, la Belgique, le Québec, la Suisse et l’Organisation internationale de la Francophonie.
La nouvelle édition, consacrée à l’eau, propose les mots suivants: aquarelle, à vau-l'eau, engloutir, fluide, mangrove, oasis, ondée, plouf, ruisseler, spitant.
Afin de stimuler l’appropriation des mots, l’étude de la langue française et encourager la créativité des élèves, les classes primaires sont invitées à participer à la réalisation de dessins.
Chaque classe devra choisir 4 mots de la sélection « dis-moi 10 mots au fil de l’eau» pour réaliser 4 affiches. Chaque affiche sera constituée d’un dessin qui illustrera un mot de la sélection. Les étudiants auront jusqu'au 20 février pour exploiter leur créativité.
