I would like to welcome you to the Canadian School of Milan (CSM) website and thank you for considering our school for your children. I hope you will find this site informative and gain a better understanding of the International Education we offer.
At CSM we are proud to welcome families from all over the world as we strive to foster intercultural mindedness. With over 30 different nationalities, 50% of the students are international.
Lower School students have been learning about the history and traditions behind Chinese New Year. Children were delighted to create their own red and gold lanterns and puppet dragons. These symbols of wealth, prosperity and power will surely bring them good luck in the year of the rat! What a great way to learn values of diversity, respect and the appreciation for other cultures!
Warm Wishes for the Holiday Season from CSM!!!
What better way to learn about animals from polar regions than through a hands-on play activity? Last week, our Nursery children had an amazing time exploring the icy sensory tub as well as the small world centre full of animals. By stimulating the five senses, sensory play triggers creativity and also helps children to develop cognitively, socially and emotionally.
As part of their Spanish curriculum, Upper School students investigate "Día de los Muertos" through an inquiry-based learning approach. During assembly, students had the honour to deliver their Spanish presentation to the Cónsul of Mexico Mr. Gerardo Alfredo Feria Amaya. The consulate representative had a conversation with students about the cultural and historical differences between "Halloween" and "Día de los Muertos".
To celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving, Pre-K students discovered the history behind this holiday and talked about what it means to be thankful. To make the day even more special, they also baked their very own pumpkin pies!
Our Nursery children are enjoying their new dedicated green area. They are having so much fun getting their hands dirty and exploring different games with their friends!
Experiential learning is a fundamental requirement of the IB Diploma that enables students to connect the classroom to the outside world. This week, we hosted our first CAS (Creativity, Activity and Service) event where our MYP and IB students had the chance to meet several associations committed to community service. Students will be selecting the organisation of their choice to complete their volunteer hours. #ib #csm #cas #myp #canadianschoolofmilan
We are very happy to welcome our new and returning Upper School and IB students on their first day back. We look forward to a successful year together!
CSM wishes a very warm welcome to our Lower School students and their families on their fist day of school. We look forward to a fun and successful year all together!! #csm #canadianschoolofmilan #backtoschool #internationalschool
