Ontario Secondary School Diploma

The Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) is available through CSM during the final two years of High
School, delivered via in partnership with HTS in Ontario, Canada. The OSSD diploma is highly recognized by universities and colleges around the world. Similar to the IB Diploma Programme, the OSSD focuses on developing critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, which are highly valued by both universities and employers.
Unlike the IB Diploma Programme, OSSD accommodates both highly academic students and those looking for
more practical learning pathways, ensuring that all learners can find courses suited to their career or
educational goals. Students can choose courses that align with their personal interests and academic strengths.

The OSSD’s continuous assessment model is highly beneficial, as it reduces the stress typically associated with end-of-year summative exams. Students are evaluated through ongoing assignments, projects, and participation rather than relying on a single high-stakes exam and this approach usually results in higher
grades.
